Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” Matthew 13:24-30 NIV

Too many people spend time attempting to “weed out” people they believe to be false believers. The parable above lets us know that in so doing we might pull out what would be true believers. We need to spend our time and effort on sharing the word of God with those we meet. Let the Spirit of God guide you in sharing with others. If you believe one to be being steered away from the truth, then share the truth with this individual. God knows what is truly in the heart of each of us. Do not be the judge of someone. Christ has told us not to judge, lest we be judged. There will come a day when each of us stand before the Lord and will receive that which aligns with our true intentions.

Yes, there will come a day for each of us. For now, do you wish to spend time sharing God’s word, or trying to determine the intentions of others? I would rather share the word of the Lord. This is the one thing that I know is eternal truth.
