Thank You, LORD…
For nothing in particular—yet for everything in particular!
You turned a monster like me into a man of God…something only You could do; for no amount of self-help seminars, books and tapes made me any better by myself.
You did it all, LORD…You get the glory…
I know what I was,
And I know what I still can be sometimes…
And yet You still bless me…and You treat me with undeserved kindness…
Mercy…compassion…longsuffering…forgiveness…
Time after sinful time.
And why, oh why, oh why, I ask?!
And there is no answer…
Other than that is just who You are…
Kind…sweet…faithful…merciful…indefinable…unsearchable…
God Almighty!
I can come to You with anything—even share with You my deepest, darkest secrets,
And I know You never judge me;
You want only to be my Friend…
I will never fully understand You, LORD…
Not in this life…
Not in the next…
Not for all of eternity, I s’pose…
You are a mystery, LORD…
A proverb, a parable, a puzzle…
But let me end with this:
It sure is grrrrrreattttt to have Friends in high places…
Papa Most High, the Emperor of Everything…
Jesus Christ, the most gentle and loving King of all kings…
And DearHeart, the Holy Spirit…God’s precious and faithful spokesman and comforter…
