Dear Generation X:

     What happened to you?

     Truth is not relative!

     God is truth.  And so is His Word, which your elders didn’t tell you to read.

     You dance like it’s the last night on the Titanic! 

     In fact, you are sailing first-class in your pursuit of everything—something to fulfill you as to what is the point of life.

     Your ship will soon be sinking, yet you don’t seem to care—your faces are glued to Facebook in the face of the tragedy of the meaninglessness of your existence. 

     You don’t see the point…

     You have no point!

     The reason??? 

     Relativity…

     What’s right…?  What’s wrong…?

     All of it is relative to the individual…or so you’ve been taught.

     Self-gratification is your ticket on the Titanic. You see the iceberg coming at you, and the futility of it all, and so you sit first-class in a chair above deck and enjoy what's left of your voyage. 

     But nothing ever hits the spot, a hole in your soul that only Christ can fill, and your destination is doom. 

     And yet you still don’t seem to care. 

     An iceberg eagerly awaits you.  An iceberg named angst, agony, and endless ages of death, destruction, and despair. Do you really want that? 

     Look out!  You are going to crash!!!

     I suppose it’s your elders’ fault.  They gave up on God, and they gave you a first-class ticket on an ill-fated ship.

     But it’s not too late to jump into a lifeboat and row towards the Lighthouse.

     Jesus Christ is that Lighthouse—that beacon of hope, my friend. He surely loves you, and wants to rescue you from shipwreck! He even died for your sins, so you wouldn't have to; that's how precious you are to Him! 

     So, head for the Light! 

     Choose the Light. 

     Live in the Light.
     
     That Light is the truth, and the true key to contentment and meaning,

     And you won’t drown as the Titanic goes down.

     I pray for you.

     Now…

     Before it is too late, and you meet your fate

     With that iceberg that surely awaits…
