The Learned And The Children

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do." Matthew 11:25-26 NIV

One might wonder why God’s truth is not revealed to the learned, but, to little children. Aren’t the learned in a better position to present truth to others? The problem with this thinking lies in the fact that the learned wish to share about themselves, about what they know, about this world. They don’t have room for sharing the truth of Christ. Those who are simple in heart and mind, that don’t rely on themselves, but rather depend on God, these are the ones who can share effectively God’s word. They can share that which God has done in their lives.

To come to God, we must first realize that without Him we are bankrupt. We have no true purpose to life, without Him. We need Christ to be our Savior, and to live our lives, not for ourselves, but, for the well-being of others instead. Keep your heart, mind, and soul focused on God, and not on the thoughts of the worldly learned.
