You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Matthew 10:22-23a NIV

Persecution of Christians can come in various forms, some more severe than others. It may entail being ridiculed, losing a friendship, or name calling. On the severe side, it might entail imprisonment, or even execution. We must, though, listen to the promise of our Lord. The one who holds out to the end shall be saved. Our time on earth is limited, but, there is an eternity in heaven that awaits us. We must remain united to the Lord. We must do as He tells us.

When we are persecuted, if we can, we should flee to another place. If we have made the Good News known, and it is not accepted, and we are persecuted, then we need to go elsewhere to share God’s word. We can pray for those who choose not to accept the gospel. Pray that the unbeliever will have a change of heart.

Whatever you do, never give up sharing the Good News, and being a beacon for the light that is Christ to shine through you.
