“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” Matthew 10:16-20 NIV

Just as Christ warned the disciples, we are also told that we will not be readily accepted by the masses for that which we speak. Those of this world are not centered on the Lord, nor do they care to be as such. We are to be perceptive and wise, yet we are not to back away from the message we are sent to share. Persecution shall come our way, in different manners. For some it will be a mild persecution, for others it will be intense, and life threatening. We should not worry what to say in reply when we are mocked and persecuted. The Holy Spirit, just as He provides us with the message to share about Christ, will also provide us with the words to share when we face adversity from those with whom we share the word.

Release yourself to the power of the Holy Spirit. Go where lead, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
