Demon Possessed Man Healed

While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.” Matthew 9:32-34 NIV

Jesus’ removal of the demon from this man caused amazement. People saying nothing like this had been seen in all Israel. How many of those thinking this turned to Jesus? For how many was it just an observance, and nothing more. The leaders had such a ludicrous comment. Why would the prince of demons cast out a demon? We know the leaders would stop at nothing to discredit Jesus and His works.

Most people have some kind of faith: maybe faith in friends, faith in their ability to accomplish goals, and more. Why not have your faith be in something that is real? The lack of faith in Jesus by most is due to the desire to remain in the flesh’s sin and earthly desires. Others believe they can do the so-called “straddle the fence.” If you have faith, make it count, make it be in Christ Jesus. If you lack faith, go to Christ, asking Him to help you gain faith in Him. Faith is great as long as it is in Christ Jesus.
