The Wide And Narrow Gates

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 NIV

Why is the gate we choose to seek so narrow? It is narrow as we need to no longer live our lives for ourselves, but, instead, for the Lord. This is a sacrifice that many choose not to make. They choose the here and now, the instant gratification that this world offers. While they choose the here and now, we look to the eternal place that we shall dwell within. This comes to us through our acceptance of Christ as our Savior, and by obedience to the way He leads us. We know we cannot of our own give up our lives. We need Christ, through the indwelling Holy Spirit to direct us into that which we must do.

Don’t follow that wide path, that seems so easy. It will only lead to destruction. Live the life that Christ asks of you.
