The Father's Will Be Done

“your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10 NIV

Have you noticed how limited our prayer requests can be? Are our requests self-centered, or are they that the glory of God might shine through them coming to fruition?

We, as Christians, have hope for an eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. If our hope is for this, why would we not want the Father’s will to be accomplished on earth, just as it is Heaven? Would we not want the desires He has for us in Heaven to begin here on earth?

Let’s not keep our requests in prayer limited to me, and to the here and now. Remember, with God all things are possible. The Lord’s prayer is simple, yet it is so profound. Sometime sit down, read the prayer slowly, and ask God to open your eyes to all that it carries in meaning.

Let God’s kingdom come, and His will be done!
