A Third Dream for Joseph

After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.” Matthew 2:19-20 NIV

It must have been an effective way for God to communicate with Joseph via an angel and a dream. We are never told of any doubt on the part of Joseph to the dreams which He had. He just trusted and obeyed.

Do we just trust and obey? God finds ways to communicate His message to each of us. Do we take the messages to heart and just obey, or, do we question God? Isn’t it funny that we would question the one who knows all, the one who knows what is best for us?

Joseph took mother and child, and headed for the land of Israel. I wonder what must have gone through his mind, with this third dream. It was not even the last one, as we shall see later. What is important is that he trusted and obey.

The U.S. bills have the motto “In God We Trust”. We must truly do as this motto says.
