I've counted up the cost for this trip
it was printed in black and white
All weighed on a scale and well balanced
have no excuse to miss this flight

To that heavenly home in glory
where God's angles will forever sing
My soul will rest no more to test
only joy my soul will spring

There is a price that comes with heaven
for on this road it will get rough
And yes, those sorrows will be added
but it's only to make us tough

Our suffering is only for a moment
there comes a refreshing when it's due
God will not put more on us then we can bear
and everything He says is true

Sometimes our flight dis-encouragement comes
that will try to weight us down
Almost to drain every strength we have
trying to knock us to the ground

But the soldier knows the wings of flight
and in what it will take to soar
Which is the armor that's given to us
so to keep us above and aboard

Yes we can say our wings do dare to soar
for we have studied each avenue
Which does come from God's Holy word
that we have to keep in our view

Our bodies have become a spiritual house
where God's spirit dwells in us
Then it's upkeep is kept by his Holy word
that we rely on and trust

Jesus was that stone, the builders rejected
he became the chief corner stone
And we are built on this foundation
owner of the spirit filled home

So we can know who's in our house
taking up residency in the heart
For how can two walk together, accept they agree
and one of the other will soon depart
