And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17b-19 NIV

How wide, and long and high and deep is the love of God? God’s love is everywhere, because God is love. I do not know that we could fully grasp the magnitude of God’s love for us. God has always loved us, and He always will love us. It is His perfect plan that we be able to be connected to Him, in love, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

To even be able to start grasping at the magnitude of God’s love for us, we must be rooted in love. If we cannot love ourselves, and love our neighbors as ourselves, how could we expect to grasp God’s love? Through the Holy Spirit, we can receive power which will enable us to begin to grasp the love of God. Without the Spirit of Truth, we are lost, just like all who do not believe in God.

It is good for us to strive to begin to understand God’s love. This will help us to be a Christian who works at serving the Lord, and doing that which He asks of us. Work to understand His love, and ask Him to help you love yourself and others, just as He loves you.
