In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. Ephesians 1:7-8a NIV

It is through the shedding of Christ’s blood, and only through it, that we have been redeemed. We have been forgiven of our sins. We are no longer slaves to sin, and to the desires of this world. That is why we are no longer of this world, even though we live in this world. We belong, now, to Jesus Christ. Through His love for us, we have been united to Him through Him willingly shedding His blood in our place.

This all comes to us through the riches of God’s grace. Anyone who does not know that God’s grace is so rich, does not have much of an understanding of God. God does not just sprinkle us with His grace. As Paul tells us in the above verses, God lavishes us with His grace. He gives us His grace abundantly.

No one can give to us as God gives. No one can provide to us all that God provides. It is hard to understand how so many can miss seeing all that God does for us out of His love.

When you see someone, who seems to have it all within the world, reflect on the fact that you, a believer in Christ, have been lavished with the grace of God. The world, and those who belong to it, have nothing in comparison to that with which we have been blessed.
