OUT OF THE DEPTHS

Wash me clean and I shall be clean
Bathe my mind in peace.
I find no rest in the cares of this world
I long for the grace of release.

A force hinders prayer
And would bind me in chains
Holding back what the Spirit would share.
Oh my God, just how long
Must I cling to death's song?
Till I give unto Thee all my care.

Weak the flesh; but weaker still
My resolve to serve You like no other.
And perhaps when I fathom
What Your love is about
I can truly show love to my brother.

In the trials of life
Through the hurricane blast
You're my lighthouse in midst of the storm.
I will not leave Your side
You shall keep me secure
Though I'm battered and beaten and torn.

I have no other
Who cares for my soul
Not like You, You're the Rock, the Redeemer.
As You hung in between
This cursed earth and God's heaven
You were there to make me a believer.

Help me to run from the fear of mankind
Let my words not succumb to man's pride.
Fill me with faith, till it flows like a spring
In Thy temple lot not sin abide.

The heart that longs to be with the Father
Over all else that can be imagined,
Shall inherit the kingdom
That's prepared for His saints
And stand clothed in the garb of the Lamb.
