“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31-32 NIV

Satan sifts each of us, looking for a way to lead us astray from Christ.

Christ knows that there will be times when we give in to sin. By nature, we are sinners. Yet, Christ knows that we who belong to Him will turn back to Him. We will return with remorseful, repentant hearts. If we are sincere, Christ forgives us. Christ died for our sins, not for our good deeds.

Christ tells us that no one can snatch anyone that belongs to Him through the Heavenly Father, from His hands. We do not need to think that we have somehow lost our salvation because of giving in to sin. Christ died for us once and for all. Assuming our hearts belong to Him, we will return to Him, remorseful for our sins.

When we return to Christ, we are to strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to continue to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. We must return to the work the Lord has given to us.

We belong to Christ, and no one can take that away from us. His love for us endures forever.
