Peter learned the hard way about making bold proclamations in one’s Christian life.

I believe that it is best that any bold proclamations made should be about God, and not about ourselves. Too many things can occur which would make us do falsely about that which we proclaim about ourselves.

Are we not to humble ourselves, while exalting God? In speaking with others, speak about all that is good of God. If you speak of anything good which you have done, be sure to say that it is because God has worked in and through you. We are vessels of the Lord. We are servants, and not the Master. In what you say, remember, Christ must increase as we must decrease.

If we keep ourselves humble, we will not put our foot in our mouth as Peter had done.
