The next time your song leader says, "Turn over in your hymnals to
page 321," let's all do it -- we'll all "turn over."

A faithful reader sent me the following:
"Pastor Steve went as interim to help another church who had lost
their pastor after some bad times. They are not getting enough
money to meet their building payments. Yesterday, we took up a
collection for their church and then our choir of about 60 folks and
our handbell choir chartered a bus and had a combined and
separate choir program, with cello solos, piano solos, handbells
and duets plus the choirs." Wow -- that's gr-r-r-reat!!

Folks, that's putting wheels on our Christianity -- helping others.
Our faith is often too selfish. We go to church, soak up the singing
and preaching, put a tip in the offering, and then deposit our faith
at the door when we leave because it will be safe there -- we'll pick
it up again next week. That's Sundianity, not real Christianity. A
true child of God will demonstrate the love of Christ to those in
need around them -- 24/7.

After telling his followers about the final judgment and our need to
be helpful to others, Jesus said in Matt. 25:40 (nlt), "...when you
refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were
refusing to help me." Refusing to help Christ? That's really
serious -- I wouldn't want that hanging over my head, would you?
Let's put wheels on our faith. One way is to go caroling to the
shut-ins. We're going -- will you join us?
