True and False Wisdom

He said to the crowd: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. 56Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?” Luke 12:54-56 NIV

Those who are wise of this world can interpret things of this world. They thus amass followers, who want to belong to someone who can interpret of this world. They are foolish though, as they cannot interpret the true things of the times, that which is of God.

Those who truly have wisdom are those who are humble, not self-righteous. They are those who follow the Lord and trust in Him. These are the ones who have wisdom imparted to them by the Holy Spirit.

Wisdom is gained it is not inherited. It does not come from within. True wisdom comes from God through the Holy Spirit. We must recognized that we have not true wisdom without God, and we must pray that the Lord would bless us with wisdom through the Holy Spirit. With this true wisdom, we then can truly interpret the present times.
