“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Luke 12:36 and 40 NIV
Jesus comes to the believer in many different ways; sometimes in events in our lives, and sometimes through particular individuals who are a part of our life. We often “miss” seeing Jesus though because our minds are preoccupied with worldly things. I mention this in accordance with the above words of Christ. He does refer above to His second coming to this earth, yet He also comes to those who believe in Him, though it might not be in physical form.
Whatever we do, we should do it with vigor for the Lord, anticipating that He just might choose to visit us in some manner. Our minds, hearts and souls must truly be open to a visit by the Lord, in whatever manner he so chooses.
Are we not to see our Lord in others? Are we not to see all the blessings which we have been given by our God? If we are not truly always awake and attentive to our Lord, then we shall miss seeing Him when He comes to us. Every time we realize that the Lord has come to us, we truly know it is a blessing. Why miss any more blessings? Be always alert and attentive to the presence of the Lord!
