No Different Than The Pharisees

Jesus replied, “And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them. Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.” Luke 11 verses 46 and 52 NIV

And, the teachers of the law thought that Jesus should think more highly of them than the Pharisees. They opened their mouths, so Jesus spoke the truth to them as well.

Woe to those who place man-made burdens on people and will do nothing to help them. Remember that Christ tells us in Matthew 11:28 that those who are weary and burdened should come to find, and therein find rest. Keep this in mind and don’t allow man to block your access to Jesus Christ.

What about those who take away the key to knowledge? I believe those to be people who preach a gospel other than that of Jesus Christ. Many false prophets will proclaim that the individual has within themselves the power to spiritually cleanse themselves and make themselves whole. That is truly false. In order to be spiritually cleansed, to be saved and redeemed, one needs Jesus Christ at the center of their being. Those who believe otherwise are being led astray, either by themselves or by others. Always remember that Christ is our saving grace, and it is through nothing which we have done, nor through anything which we can do on our own. Don’t be lead astray by the false prophets of today. Do not trust in yourself. Instead, trust, and believe in Jesus Christ. He is the only way to the heavenly Father and to eternal life.
