Dissension in the Enemy Camp

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Luke 11:17-20 NIV

I really enjoy watching Jesus put those who condemn His works in their proper place. How absolutely foolish it was to think that through demons Jesus was casting out demons. Satan and his gang have already lost the war. Believe me, they are not fighting against each other. They are in fierce battle with the followers of Christ. We who have wisdom in the Lord realize this fact. We ask the Lord to protect and defend us as we do battle in His blessed name. We do not walk into temptation. We do not provide the evil one and his followers with ammunition for attacking us. No, the Satanic world is not fighting against itself.

Jesus then poses the question “Well, if I am able to cast out demons through other demons, what are you using to cast out demons?” Gotcha there! If they were unsuccessful at casting out demons with what they believed to be the power of God, yet Jesus was casting out demons through the power of demons, then who really had the power? No matter how they would have responded they would have condemned themselves. At least they were wise enough to not try and answer.

Then Jesus points out the truth, that it was by the power of God that He cast out demons. Oh, and yes, the kingdom of God had come upon them.

My friends, today, the kingdom of heaven has come upon you as well!
