Don’t Give Up

I just want to say
For you not to give up hope
Regardless of what it may be
You have the inner strength to cope

Sometimes things seems so hopeless
Nothing seems to go right
Despair and fear walk hand in hand
There’s no escape from your plight

Each day is a challenge
Just to stay alive
Somehow, somewhere
You’ve lost the will to survive

You cloak your identity
Behind the social norm
Otherwise you’d be an outcast
To their ways you must conform

Everything you’ve ever had
Now seems to be shredded apart
Bewildered, you look around
Not knowing where to start

I wish I had the answers
Yet I cannot seem to find them
The only advice I can give
Is to trust in Him

He’s promised to take every situation
And work it out for the best for you
But sometimes that seems hard to remember
When it seems our hands are tied too

My friend, sister and brother
Someday, you’ll look back and see
The good that came out of today
All you must do is-believe

And I promise you
That this darkness will not stay
The light will shine again
Better days are on the way

Until then, I beg of you
Please do not give up hope
His Holy Spirit is within you
He will give you strength to cope
