Father

Father, I feel so dirty and unclean
Man has soiled my very body
He’s taken for his own pleasure
In everyway, he’s used me

No Father, not a mirror
There I do not want to go
How? Look at me!
I’m as clean as fresh snow

Father, I feel so broken apart
Man has battered me in every way
Yet, there is no escape
I can’t get away

My Saviour, Your stripes, your scars
Somehow have healed me
My body is whole again
How can I ever thank Thee?

Father, I have lost all hope
My life is so full of pain
Trying to find happiness
Seems all in vain

Your Holy Spirit is comforting me
Putting a peace in my very soul
Such peace I’ve never imagined
I could ever know

Father I feel so frightened
Out in the world so alone
Fear has taken over me
Overwhelmed me to the bone

You’ve taken away the fear
And put strength in its place
I know You are with me
No matter what the case

Father, Satan has attacked my life
Bringing so much misery
He’s torn my whole world apart
And taken away all that’s special to me

How have you done it?
Turning his works around
Everything has worked for my good
You crushed his evil ways all the way down

Father, I am alone
And don’t know what to do
I don’t know what path to take
Or if this life, I’ll get through

You gave me Your Word
To lead me through my strife
And through Your grace,
With You, Eternal Life
