And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things. 2 Peter 1:15 NIV

Children are so perceptive. How well I can attest to this truth. Our 17 month old granddaughter has increased her vocabulary to make us realize how well she understands in her formative years.

Their ability for understanding, mimicking our words and actions are far beyond our expectations. Our own faith and actions are lived out through their young hearts way beyond what we think they can understand. 

My wife and I teach and reflect confidence into our granddaughter, and other grandchildren, by our living our lives through the power and presence of Jesus in us.  When they see us emulate a Spirit Controlled Temperament, their own faith begins to grow. They learn from those they become attached to, and become dependent on through their everyday experiences.

Our middle son and his wife have blessed us with two grandsons, one at 20 months and the other at three years old. When they come to visit grandma and grandpa we have our usual routines and activities with the boys as they too, are so observant and quick to establish themselves to want to do what they see us do.

Even as when I write letters to my two adult grandchildren, things they learn and do now, in their season of growing and learning, are their seasons of remembrance to hang onto.

When I enter in my daily prayer journal, my thanksgiving and petitions, I know, one day their ‘seasons of remembrance’ will cause them to know; when I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Psalm 56:3
