Hebrews 9:8,9a NKJV

‘The present time’ our Advocate for us, is our long awaited Messiah.  Before long we’ll be celebrating the Advent, our season for bringing homes closer together, celebrating this One who is, and always will be our lasting peace and rest.

Within the structure of social behavior today, there are more demonstrations and contentious turmoil seeking to take away that rest which God brought forth in the birth of His Son. How do we overcome unrest and remain steadfast in His promised peace? Is it not being personally committed to intimately know this One; who surpasses the law and the tabernacle Moses set before Israel.

“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27. Jesus our Advocate, intercedes on our behalf, as we cry out in prayer, “Abba Father.” Jesus alone, supersedes the Mosaic Law; our Gift of Advent.In our society of unrest and contention, purpose daily to reach up to Him in prayer; learn to lean of Him more and self less.

“I bid every one among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgement, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him.” Romans 12: 3b [RSV] Leaning on ourselves less will bring increase to our faith, to overcome worldly unrest, promise to our Advent.
