                                                   We’re saved in Hope

“For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.” Romans 8:24-25 NKJV

Those of us who have been walking with our Lord for many years, are far from where we started out in our journey, walking by faith. We’ve come to recognize the product of our Lord’s faithfulness upon us. We’ve come to learn the richness of His grace; to become more Christlike in our own character qualities. Leaning on our Lord more, and less upon our own reasoning and strength. A reflection of what John the Baptist proclaimed; “He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30 

What we’re about today is not ourself, living for self-seeking interests, but to mature in our Lord. Knowing more the promises of our ‘hope not yet seen,’ for us.

Many years past when attending a week long bible seminar, our host challenged us to read the bible at least five minutes a day. He went so far as for us to make a vow to our Lord, to daily reading His word. Making that vow I have been blessed to develop a personal intimacy with God. To desire His way and wisdom, is much greater than my own limited thinking.

That commitment many years ago, has allowed me to know the treasure of His Lordship in my life, and know promises I would have never understood from not knowing His word; in a loving and compassionate Savior. Hope through promise not yet seen is rest in Him, and blessing through answered prayer of hope, way beyond measure.
