See God Face to Face

Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me.” John 12:44-45 NIV

Oh, how we long to see God face to face. Here on earth this is not possible. God is Holy and no one in there human state can see the face of God and live. However, we should not despair. By looking at Jesus, we are looking at the Heavenly Father. But, you say “How can we see Jesus?” I tell you, that you must see Jesus with your heart, mind, and soul. Guess what? If Jesus lives in your heart, mind, and soul, then so does the Heavenly Father!! Remember in John 4, Jesus told the Samaritan woman that those who sought God must seek Him in Spirit.

The Heavenly Father does want us to meet Him face to face, and for believers it will happen in due time, but first He wants to reside in our hearts and souls, in the very core of our being. This can happen to us here on earth, if we will give ourselves over to the Lord Jesus Christ. God’s plan is perfect. The Father wants to come first to us (indwelling us) before we come to meet Him face to face. See, our Father comes to us first. He is that loving. This reminds me so much of the parable of the prodigal son. If we offer ourselves to Jesus Christ, the Father comes to us with the Son, just as the father ran out to meet his prodigal son who returned home with a repentant heart.

One day, we who believe in Christ, will see the Father, face to face, and live. It will be in His kingdom, heaven, with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What a beautiful, fantastic, unfathomable, perfect plan. We meet Him in spirit, and we will later see Him face to face!!
