Once a year I get to remind the guys to buy a nice three piece
sweater outfit for your gal -- two needles and a ball of yarn.

OK, we're probably old enough to take off the training wheels and
stand on our own in the family of God. It's the unfortunate
crippled person who needs the crutches. When healing comes,
they throw away the crutches and stand tall on their own. So, are
we using a crutch in our faith? Do we have a strong faith of our
own or are we relying on the faith of others to sustain us? Are we
riding on the crest of exuberance we find at church and then
floundering on our own during the week? God has a better plan for
us.

There is this interesting verse in Phil. 2:12 that is often
misunderstood: "...work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling." Does that mean you are saved by your works. No -- it
means that we need to have the responsibility for obeying God and
developing our own strong faith. Being a Christian involves
spiritual stamina and courage in today's world. You have to know
what you believe, why you believe it and then act on it.

Any muscle needs to be exercised to get strong. Faith is no
different.
