Parts of 1 Cor 13 for modern day Christians at Christmas: "If I
speak in the tongues of Christmas materialism and greed but have
not love, I am only a tinny Christmas song or an out of tune choir...
Love is kind and lets the couple with only a few items go in front
of you and your bulging shopping cart...Love does not delight in
the commercial bandwagon but rejoices with the truth of a baby
born in the stable...Toys may break, socks wear thin but love never

How do you wrap up love? There are so many ways -- special
kindnesses, thank you to those who work hard at church but never
see the limelight or get recognition, thank you to your pastor who
usually only hears from folks if he does something they think is
wrong, and on and on. There are 1000's of ways to share the love
of Christ, but so few ever get used.

I share love in a fun way that you can also do. When I see parents
in a restaurant with about a 6 year old child, I say to the child,
"would you like a magic dollar?" Then as I give the child a dollar,
I say (mostly for the parent's benefit), "It's magic because if you put
this dollar in a bank to earn interest (unfortunately, very little
today), someday it will help you through college." It never fails to
bring big smiles and a thank you. The smile on the child's face is a
tremendous bargain for a dollar. Try it!

Solomon said in Prov. 23:15 (nlt), "My child, how I will rejoice if
you become wise." I can hear God saying the same to us -- "How I
will rejoice if you become wise" -- wise in learning ways to
demonstrate my love to others!
