Do You Believe This?

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 NIV

I believe that most of mankind has a hope. They have a hope that there is a life beyond the one we have now, one which is better and more meaningful than our current life. The fact of the matter is that there is a life beyond this one for all of mankind. It is called eternity. The question for each of us is this: Where will we spend eternity? Will we spend it in the presence of a loving Heavenly Father, with His Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ? Or will we spend our eternity in everlasting torment, cast out of the sight of God?

Jesus truly is the resurrection. He is truly the hope which all mankind longs for, but, which unfortunately the majority choose not to accept. God has a wonderful, unfathomable perfect plan, yet most decline the beautiful gift He offers each of us. How sad this is!

He who believes in Christ, even though his earthly body shall perish, his spiritual being will live forever with Christ and the Heavenly Father, in the kingdom of God. The one who believes in Christ will never die the eternal death, the everlasting banishment from the presence of God.

What is truth? What is real? We search for truth in life. Jesus revealed the truth to us when He said “I am the resurrection and the life.” Just as Jesus asks Martha nearly 2000 years ago, He asks each of us today “Do you believe this?” Close your eyes, relax, look into the everlasting, ever loving eyes of our Lord, and say “Yes Lord, I believe!!” AMEN!!
