Come and Drink

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37-38

Does your soul constantly search for the real truth to life? Do you feel lost without this real truth? I know that I can certainly answer yes to each of these questions. Jesus tells us that if we thirst in this manner that we should come to Him. What is truly wonderful in this offering from our Lord is the fact that if we come to Him with a truthful and humble heart, He will accept us. Our thirst for spiritual truth will be satisfied. We will need to seek no further than Jesus. He will provide for us and guide us along the narrow path that leads to eternal life. This is because He is the way to eternal life. There is no other way but through Him. We are given work by our Lord to perform, as the harvest is ripe, but the workers are few. In order to carry out His mission for us, we need the rivers of living water flowing within us. We wish for others to see Christ living within and working through us. I know that I wish others to see me as the Lord’s vessel. The Father and the Son need to be glorified, and if me being a vessel for the Lord allows this to happen, then praise be to God! The living water within the believer is self-perpetuating. It is so as the nourishment provided by our Lord keeps the living water inside us alive!

Lord Jesus, we thank you and the heavenly Father for offering to quench our spiritual thirst always. We know that without you we would be spiritually dead, living a life with no true meaning. Thank you for providing for us all that we need. Fill us with perseverance to always do your work and to always share your message of Good News to all mankind! AMEN!!
