We want to pass along a heritage of authentic godliness
That our children will continue on because they've seen Him in us
Train them up in the Lord and forsake Him they will not
If they've witnessed a heart of worship and true intimacy with God.

Be quick to include the children when you read, serve and pray
It's more likely they will be devoted if they can participate
When fully consecrated to God the priority will be worship
To give all you have, all you are, committed to His purpose.

God has empowered you for victory, for He is on your side
But be careful to remain obedient and never compromise
If the things you do don't match up with the things that you say
It will not escape the eyes of those who are looking your way.

And one day when they are old enough to walk out that door
With no need to put on airs or pretend anymore
They'll be about feeding their lust and their fleshly desires
With no interest at all in being compromisers.

Live your life on display, genuine, not second rate
Bow the knee to compromise and invite Hell to be their fate
Have you traded your worship for another priority?
The choice is yours now, it's time to take inventory.

It's not too late to change your course and bring your kids along
In order for them to follow Christ YOU must yield to God
If a higher standard is what you desire, to you He has this message
Repent and confess your sin to Him and pass along the heritage.
