Natural and Inexpensive Solutions For Toenail Fungus

I recently visited a dermatologist for some skin cancer and in the process she told me I had some fungus developing around a toenail that was bruised and smashed from an accident I had many years ago. The doctor wanted me to buy some expensive ointment for the fungus but I passed on that solution and researched some natural remedies.

Here's what I found that could work for you if you are experiencing the same problem.

Option 1. Take some bleach and mix it with some warm water in a bucket large enough to dip your whole foot into. I think I put about a half cup of bleach into a large bucket and let my foot soak for several minutes..  This seemed to work for me and was certainly an inexpensive solution to toenail or foot fungus. 

 Option 2. Another solution is using olive leaf extract which is a powerful anti-fungal agent.  You can apply olive leaf extract directly to the fungus area.

You can also take olive leaf extract orally.  It will help your body fight off any microbial invaders by killing yeast and other fungi in your system. In addition olive leaf extract can boost your immune system and offers antibacterial support as well, both key factors to fighting infections.

The University of Maryland Medical Center recommends taking 250–500 mg capsules one–three times daily for immune system support. Continue taking capsules until the infection is resolved.

Some folks have also reported successfully clearing up their toenail fungus by using olive leaf extract directly on their toes.

Option 3. Still another solution is Apple cider vinegar.
I use Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. This can be used for many purposes.  Recently, a study showed that apple cider vinegar is able to kill Candida yeast, which is a type of fungus that could lead to toenail fungus infections.

You'll probably have to use this on a daily basis to keep the fungus under control.  Many home remedies call for a daily soak of the infected toes in equal parts water and apple cider vinegar solution for 10–20 minutes until the fungus has cleared.

In addition, following the soak with either tea tree or lavender oil should help restore your nails back to a healthy state.

Both of these essential oils are proven fungi busters and are great natural solutions to toenail fungus. Just like the vinegar soak, they should be used daily to clear the fungus or until instructed by a medical provider.

Remember your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit so take care of it as you would the Lord's physical body if He were under your care.  Don't neglect your body and it will serve you well.
