Perhaps some people are well received and respected in their hometowns and families after they accept Christ, but not all are so. In fact, more followers are probably rejected in their hometowns than are accepted. We don't have the stats, but we do have the Bible. Even the Master Himself had the issue of not being taken seriously by the people who knew Him as a child and as “the carpenter’s son” and so on (Matthew 13: 55-57 NIV, Matthew 13:57-59 NIV).
Sometimes you cannot do anything in your hometown or within your “household” because others refuse to see you as the new person that God has formed you to be (Mark 6:4 NLT). Jesus said that Himself (Luke 4:24 NASB). They may not believe. They may not want to believe. You have to move on in such cases. If God doesn’t tell you that your assignment is to stay in or go back to your personal Nazareth, then you don’t need to be there. He will let you know where you should be (Genesis 12:1 KJV). He will let you know in a huge way if you should not be somewhere, as well. You will know without a doubt.
You will have family and friends again, and they will be your blood relatives. The blood of the covenant will make them your kinfolk. They will be friends of yours because of their common interest in being about the Father’s business (Luke 8:21 HCSB).
