ARE YOU FATHERLESS

"Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation ".(Psalm 68:5)

Have you ever been "fatherless" ? Have you known a fatherless child, or play mate ? Sad to say, many are, from a secular viewpoint. From a spiritual agenda, no one need be fatherless.

Why does God present Himself as a father in (Psalm 68:5) ? Because we all can relate well to the title of Father, as we all have a good idea what a Father is all about, even if our Father failed to live up to the "father image".

As humans, we all have an inbred need for love, for a fathers love. So we, as His children, should always address Him as "Father (Luke 11:2). And though out Scripture, God describes His love for us as that of a caring parent (Isaiah 49:15) ( John 16:26–27) ( 2 Corinthians 6:18).

God has a special place in His heart for the fatherless (Deuteronomy 24:20) (Jeremiah 49:11) (James 1:27). (Psalm 27:10). You see, He who numbers the hairs on our head will certainly not turn away from the orphan.

Yes, the Christian faith is built around our heavenly Father, God. From the "Lord's prayer" (Matthew 6:9-13) to our individual prayers (John 16:23) , we all address God as our Father.

So, here are five Bible truths, that will keep one from being spiritually fatherless.
1- All mankind are born fatherless, because of our inbred sin ( Hebrews 12:8).
2- God has chosen to adopt every fatherless child in the world (Gal 4:4-7)
3- All who are adopted into the family of God are adopted forever (Hebrews 13:5).
4- You are adopted into the family of God, as  you have nothing to prove (1 John 3:1)(Galatians 2:20).
5-God has sent the Holy Spirit to pour out His love on us (Romans 5:5) (Romans 8:16)(1 John 3:1)

How then may one become a Child of God ? Very simple. Just take God's free grace by faith, as no one can ever be good enough, give enough money, or have enough Christians friends to help (Ephesians 2:8-9).

It's all free. Free because of God's love in that He gave up His only beloved Son for us (John 3:16-17), Just simple come to Him in prayer, confess your sin, and except His forgiveness.

I was very lucky, in that I was born into a Christian home, as my father and mother were in the ministry. Yes, that made me a (PK), short for preacher's kid. However, many kids are not so lucky.

Statics show- Fifty-five (55.2) percent of WIC recipients are raised by single-mothers, 48.2% of all Head Start recipients are from father-absent homes, and 37% of public assistance and Section 8 housing are female-headed households.

So, this mission field is wide open. What is your church doing about it ? What are you doing about it ? (Matthew 25:45)
