Shortly before leaving this world, our Lord gave us a promise. He promised, when He went away, He would send us a helper (John 16:7) (Acts 1:5,8).

What would this helper, the person of the Holy Spirit, do for us Christians ? He would teach us (John 16:12-15, He would guide us (Romans 8:14), He would give us assurance (Romans 8:16), and He would help us in our prayers (Romans 8:26) Ephesians 6:18).

In today's Christian populace we hear a lot of talk of " being filled with the Spirit". What does this mean? Being filled means being controlled by the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). Being filled produces a Christ likeness (Galatians 5:22-23). Being filled requires dedication (Romans 12:1-2) (Romans 8:14). And being filled is not necessary a onetime event, as being filled can be repeated (Acts 2:4) (Acts 4:31).

Individual's receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, at the time of salvation (Titus 3:5). This comes instantaneous , and is not a process, as It comes, as part of our new nature (2 Cor 5:17), and with our new life (1 John 2:29). However, often times one needs just a little extra heavenly push , in the person of the Holy Spirit, to bring them through a certain life situation. Thus, being filled with the Spirit.

You see, believers may lose the filling of the Holy Spirit, but not the indwelling (John 14:16). So, what is the relation of anointing to indwelling ? They occur at the same time but for different purposes: indwelling to bring the presence of God into our lives, and anointing to enable us to be taught (1 John 2:20-27).

Victory over sin in our daily experience is necessary in being filled or controlled by the Spirit (Ephesians 4:30). This means responding to the light of the Word as it is continually revealed (1 John 1:7).

So, what is the consequences of being filled or controlled by the Spirit. A Christ like character (Galatians 5:22-23), worship and praise (Ephesians 5:18-20), submissiveness (Ephesians 5:21), and service (John 7:37-39).
You see, the Holy Spirit is a person, as being a part of God's Holy Trinity. He is intelligent (1 Cor 2:10-11). He has feelings (Ephesians 4:30). He has will (1 Cor 12:11). He can be obeyed (Acts 10:19-21) He can be lied to (Acts 5:3 ).He can be resisted (Acts 7:31) He can be reverenced (Psalm 51:11) He can be blasphemed (Matthew 12:31) He can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30 . And He can be outraged (Hebrews 10:29. Sounds a little like some of our human characteristics, would you not say ?.

However, He is truly a member of the God head, as the Holy Spirit possesses divine attributes. He is Omniscience (1 Cor 2:10-11). He is Omnipresence (Psalm 139:7). He is Omnipotence (Genesis 1:2). He is Truth (1 John 5:6). He is Holiness (Luke 11:13). He is life (Romans 8:2) And he has Wisdom Isaiah 40:13).
Thus, this above poem entitled "Bring Your power Down Again Lord".
