Mirrors

Somewhere in the process of growing, we tend to forget what it's like being a child.
The tenderness that resides in our young frames fades away and is replaced by the responsibility of daily life.
It is hard sometimes to understand that our children are not just smaller versions of ourselves, but that they are, indeed, just young sprouts, not fully grown and not fully capable of moving ahead at the same pace as ourselves.
We need to be reminded almost daily of this and look at every day with the new eyes and heart of our children, encouraging them with love and with patience so that one day they will be the strong and secure men and women we want them to be,
and the compassionate followers of Christ that God desires.
