HOMELAND

I've grown so incredibly weary
Of having a sin-sick soul.
To count it all loss
And finally cross over
Would surely be a worthwhile goal.

I see it just out of my heart's grasp
That kingdom where all is at rest
I long for that homeland
I weep for its beauty
God cure me from this mortal test.

The Powerful, Loving Jehovah
My Savior and True Friend, the Christ
The Holy Ghost, Pure and Anointed
THE LORD, the Giver of Life.

I can see You and feel You and touch You
I can bask in Your Spiritual Worth
I am lost in an Essence of Holiness
Then alas, here I am still on Earth.

I will wait and I'll count it all worth it
I will be there for those who are lost
I will give of myself to my brothers and sisters
By God's grace, I will carry my cross,
But I'll ponder deep down in my soul's soul
What it soon will be like when I'm gone
There's an alternate place
Far beyond mortal space
That I one day shall set feet upon.
