IT'S ALL ABOUT ME . . . UNFORTUNATELY


Why can't I sit and talk with You?
Sometimes I just get lonely.
I know I'm surrounded by my fellow man
But I long for Your Voice only.

And yet . . . You're there
By faith, it's for sure
And faith is the anchor I'm moored with,
The void that I feel
Is spiritually real
But there's something I've missed
In the process.

Perhaps, the fault it lies with me
And it's really not Your doing
'Cause I go through my day
Without seeking Your Face
Though Your Spirit is constantly wooing.

To arise from myself
And seek only You
Would positively lead me to find
A newness in You
That I've let slip away
For I've grown so complacent with time.

I miss You, Lord
We used to have
Such fellowship divine.
My fault, Lord
I'll take the rap
But I still need to make it right.

I'll struggle back
I'll make it home
Because my strength is in You.
Till I sit at Your feet
In our heavenly home
Father God, my pure Mercy, see me through.
