The Fruit of Joy

Gla 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Jesus said marvel not that I say you must be born again because the spirit gives birth to spirit and you become one with Him.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Jn 3:5-7

The spirit grows up to yield fruits which are useful to God, you and neighbor. One such fruit is joy.

Joy is described as...
- A feeling of extreme happiness or cheerfulness, especially related to the acquisition or expectation of something good.
- To feel joy, to rejoice.
- To enjoy.
- To give joy to; to congratulate.
- To gladden; to make joyful; to exhilarate

Furthermore, Joy ...chara..gk, means ...cheerfulness, ...calm delight, ...gladness, ...exceeding joyful, joy, joyfulness, joyous.

Fruits are desired in every area of life to bring in fulfillment, satisfaction and succession. A fruit is ...
- The seed-bearing part of a plant, edible, colourful and fragrant
- An end result, effect, or consequence; advantageous or advantageous result.
- To produce fruit.

Jesus says I have chosen you to bear good fruit ...karpos..gk, and let the fruit remain when they bear.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. Jn 15:16

Fruit bearing beloved depends on its source and the source of our fruit is from the Spirit of Christ who has become one with our spirit.

The fruit of joy is more than happiness. While happiness is dependent on pleasant situations around us, joy or joyfulness is independent of situations. Whether in good or bad situations or circumstances we are not moved but joyful because Jesus is still Lord the anchor of our soul.

Happiness is the state of your mind but Joy is the state of your spirit who is one with God's Spirit bearing witness that you are His. This is the reason we have the Joy unspeakable, that is inexpressible, in our heart irrespective of circumstances we find ourselves in, the Joy of the Lord is your strength.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Jn 16:33

Satan ceates unpleasant situations to knock your joy out to affect your faith in God but that situation however unpleasant it is, It may be to prove you or provoke you to pray, fast or study the Word the more and draw closer to God.
It may be to preserve and prepare you for the glory ahead. You need to exercise you faith now. Apostle Paul says Count it all joy for the sake of Christ Jesus and in due time He will exalt you. This comes only from the fruit of joy.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Cor 12:10

The fruit of Joy refuses to be bitter and resentful, because If you get troubled and be agitated you will lack reason to exercise faith in the present and therefore you will cut short your duty, devotion and dependence on God. This is Satan's aim the author of trouble.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Mt 5:12

Jesus said in this world we will have challenges but be of good cheer ...rejoice in hope ...let your fruit of joy take precedence over every issue because you know the King of Peace is on the throne reigning in the affairs of men and that He is faithful to His Word of promise.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Jn 15:5

The fruit of joy in you is in the Word, the more we abide in the Word, the anchor of our soul, the more we have joy or be of good cheer. It is also to give joy to your neighbor and to congratulate others, that is rejoice with and bring joy to them. To gladden the heart in your sphere of contact or to make joyful with your fruit of joy is our duty. The bible says ...

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Col 1:10

Will Jesus find your fruit of joy edible, colourful and fragrant?
