DON'T GIVE ME THAT DOOM AND GLOOM

Don't give me that "DOOM and-GLOOM" mentality, you may say. Well, what if it's actually the truth ? What then would you say ? I realize people  don't want to be negative, as we all like good news. However, we just have to tell it like it is sometimes.

Depressing as it may be, any mindset other than this pessimistic physiology may just be realistically wrong. It could in fact be dead wrong. We could possibly be plunging headfirst into a lake of fire, and not even know it.

Remember the old cliché, which mentioned " tiptoeing through the tulips". It may now be far beyond  just facing down the enemy, by political lip service (Ephesians 6:12). You see, Satan's main agenda is to  destroy Christianity, by any means possible (John 10:10). And it is high time that we, who name the name of Christ, shout out the full gospel message (1 Cor 15:1-4) loud and clear.

Amid the doom and gloom,  however,  is at least one ray of hope, in the person of Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 1:15). You see, neither of the words "doom' or 'gloom" appear, singly, let alone together, in the King James version of the Bible.

Now, why and how did this phrase "doom and gloom" come to proliferation ? And how does it relate to our Christian environment ? Down through the ages, such idioms as our life style, our demographics, our  politics, and just our looking into the future, have had a lot to do with it .

Nonetheless, it was the initiation of mankind's inbred sin. Starting in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-7), forward unto today (Romans 5:12). Originally,  God created a beautiful world, for all mankind to enjoy (Genesis 1:1).  Then entered the sin nature. So now, the cost of sin is death, but God gave us an escape (Romans 6:23).

 God sent us His Son to take on the sins of all mankind,  and pay the price for mankind's redemption (John 3:16-17). And in addition, God gave us His Word, the Bible, which documented His  works, plans, and expectations for us all ( 2 Timothy 3:16).

You see, God knew before time, and before we were born,  that we would have times of trouble in this life (John 14:1). And as a result of our trouble, God has prepared  our eventual home in heaven (John 14:2), and one day He would come back just to take us home (John 14:3).In the meantime, He has directed us not to worry (2 Timothy 1:7).

So then, what about this thought of "doom and gloom" ? Is it possible that  the result of our current chain of events is paralleling  prophecy (2 Timothy 3:1-9, 13 ) (2 Timothy 4:3-4).  And if it is in fact prophecy, we  probably cannot do anything about it ( 2 Timothy 4:5), other than keep the faith (2 Timothy 3:14-15) ( 1 Cor 15:58), and keep looking up to our Lord's return, in the rapture ( 1 Cor 15:51-54) ( 1 Thess 4:13-18).  

You see, we serve a great God,  and all He ask of us is that we accept Him as our personal Savior. Have you come to Him, simply by faith, and accepted His free grace. You see, we can never  be good enough, work or pay enough,  or even rely on a friend or family member, to get us to God (Ephesians  2:8-9). He has already paid it all, through His Son, on the cross (Romans 5:8).

This notion  of  "doom and gloom", is not a popular concept, in today's culture. We  are living in the "me" generation. We want it and we want it now, regardless of the long term outcome. We seem to be experiencing  the  Ostriches syndrome, of burring our heads in the sand. Are we afraid to come out of the sand ? Are we afraid of what we  might realize ?
