DOESN'T ANYONE TALK ANYMORE

"My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming." (Psalm 27:8)

Often times, when we have the family over after a good outside meal, we just sit around watching some of the family members communicate by way of those  little monster devices, they call iPhones. While others resort to texting back and forth.  Sadly to say, this all takes place, within the confines of our living room couch. Even with my hard hearing, I could still hear, if only they would all simply resort to the old fashion trait, they call talking. Just dating myself, I guess.

Does anyone ever talk any more ? With today's new high tech communication devices, mainly the iPads, the iPods, the texting, and the like, no wonder communion with our Heaven Father, is a thing of the past.  Yes, we have lost fellowship with the Father, through today's technology.

In light of all these modern day distractions,  it's still  hard to image our all-powerful, all-knowing Creator would ever want to talk to us mere mortals. What can we tell Him, that He doesn't all ready know ? Yes, He's been there, and done that. However, why don't we just  give Him a chance, once again, and see the marvelous results ?  

But wait, God never leaves us trapped within ourselves, without words of hope and comfort (Isaiah 6:1-2). He has given us His Word, full of just the right prayers. In praying these thoughts, we open up for a deeper renewed faith in Him (Psalm 119:105).

Sometimes, however, I feel that I take advantage of my Heavenly Father. I rush into heaven's throne room with a laundry list, a mile long. Yet, doesn't His word tell us to come boldly (Hebrews 4:16). And other times I feel I may be a little too bold. When my mind is cluttered with more worldly things. However, we serve an understanding God (Psalm 65:3-4).

Realizing of course, at  times, I am full of speech, the sorrow is too much, the pain is to great, the burden is too much to bear, the heart ache and loneliness is too much,  etc. But God knows us, and knows our heart (Psalm 139:1-6). One of the things that amazes me most about God is the way He is able to handle our doubts and fears. God will turn the stumbling blocks of our lives into stepping stones (Isaiah 42:6). Regardless of our  circumstances, He is always faithful (2 Timothy 2:13).  

Conversely, God wants us to grow spiritually (Hebrews 6:1), and to realize the comfort of having fellowship with Him. Let us then  just step out of the box, and pray the Father reveal  His sovereign will for our lives. You see, God wants us to depend on Him, and  know the blessings  of His purpose (Acts 3:15). We exist only for Him and because of Him. To glorify Him, in all that we do or say.

When we seek the deeper knowledge of God, He gives us a peace and fullness, never before felt of experienced (Psalm 31:19-20). And this knowledge cannot be found in the high tech communications devices the world puts out. It can only be found in earnest prayer. There is no blessing greater than God (Psalm 4:6-8).

So, let's put away those manmade devices, for a change (Psalm 13:1-3), and bend the knee to His glory (Psalm 71:19-24). Just be still and come to know Him again (Psalm 46:10).
