Be Anxious For Nothing

Be Anxious for Nothing but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God: Philippians 4:6 KJV
It is important to clarify the fact that God has a plan for each and every one of His children, the plans are good plans to prosper us and not to cause us harm, same plans to give us hope and a future. So at every point in time we are always on Gods mind and He has a plan for all of us, despite the circumstances of the situation (Jer. 29:11, Isaiah 55:8 (KJV).

Life presents all sort of challenges from financial, personal and marital challenges etc. Sometimes we may have to wait longer than we thought for answers to prayers. At some other time it may be afflictions and we have waited so many years before deliverance comes.

The normal human reaction to long periods of waiting for answers is to become agitated, fearful, become tempted to compare our lives to other people’s life, forgetting we have different destinies and trials. Does God really waste time, does God answer prayers, and does God deliver us from our troubles. God never wastes time at all, Ecclesiastes chapter 3:1-8 KJV adequately deals with this, for the other questions the answer is a resounding yes.

The question some will ask is why should I not be fearful, agitated, or compare myself with others? I will proffer some answers but by no means are these answers exhaustive.

1. God Almighty is the creator and owner of all things Psalm 24:1
2. All power belongs to God Psalm 62:11 KJV
3. Jesus has overcome for us so in tribulation we should be of good cheer John 16:33 KJV
4. Is there anything too hard for God? Genesis 18:14 KJV
5. No matter the situation you find yourself the LORD is able to deliver you. Isaiah 43:2 KJV
6. Remember your testimonies how you overcame by the blood of the Lamb Rev 12:11 KJV
7. Remember the testimonies of the Patriarchs. Hebrews 11:11-39 KJV

The only way we can stay encouraged while waiting on God is to continuously be in the place of prayer and study of His word, for faith comes by the hearing of God’s word (Romans 10:17). But be assured whatever challenge it is, it will not last forever, testimonies should encourage us also. Lastly do not forsake the assembly of the brethren.
