Jerry was a young man born in the year 1972, growing up there where always relations living in their household. Chris was his cousin who introduced him to pornography when he was just 15 years old, this lead to Jerry becoming addicted to masturbation and adult sexual materials (magazines, films etc.). During those years there was no internet so accessing this kind of materials was not as easy as it is now, so it can be imagined the damage easily accessible internet age is doing to the present generation.

What started when Jerry was just 15 years old became a stronghold in his life for the next more than 20 years or so. Because Jerry was trying to live right before the Lord he began to look for how to put a stop to this habit. This led Jerry to seek deliverance from lust and all forms of sexual perversion.

The harder He tried the more he sank in deeper because physical effort can’t do much where spiritual matters are concerned. This stunted his Christian growth and almost destroyed his self-confidence, it was a terrible period in the life of Jerry. This continued until one day he decided he had had enough and came to self-realization of certain facts about PORN ADDICTION and MASTURBATION.

Fact 1: Masturbation is a physical sexual act controlled by the demons of lust residing in the Spirit Realm. One must understand that a person who is deep into the act of masturbation and other forms of sexual perversion has is mind in the prison of lust Romans 8:5

Fact 2: Now if these acts are controlled by the Spiritual Realm then something must be empowering it, just like if your TV is not plugged to an electricity source it can’t come on. Acts that could empower sexual perversion include; engaging in dirty talk or discussion with sexual undertone, porn films and magazines can all contribute to indulging in sexual acts of perversion.

Fact 3: The cycle of bondage continues because the mind is filled with lust [Romans 8:5 KJV] [Those  who live according  to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the spirit have their minds set on what the spirit desires.]  

The scripture above aptly captures what goes on in the life of one who has been trapped in the world of lust, pornography and perversion. You are either feeding your Spirit man or feeding your Flesh especially with materials that empower perversion. The one you feed more is the one in control.

Steps to Take for Deliverance.

Step 1: Acknowledge the fact you are not living right before the Lord.

Step 2: Resolve to stop whatever act of sexual sin you are involved in.

Step 3: Bring the matter before the Lord in prayer.  You will need God’s help the way to ask for help is through prayers [Psalm 121].

Step 4: You will need renewal and transformation of the mind on a daily basis through the reading of the scriptures [Romans 12:2, Eph. 4:22-24]. Remember the mind has already been perverted from involvement in various forms of perversion.

Step 5: Thirdly all materials, contacts that make you vulnerable must be discarded and such must not be consumed any more if the battle must be won. Through prayers God grants us grace to be able to overcome [Titus 2:11].

No matter how far gone into sexual sin; or things you might have done in the present or past can not or will never stop God from loving you, you are still very valuable to Him. You must also practice self-love. Lastly give yourself time victory might not come immediately but as you tarry in the presence of God victory is sure.

This article by no means exhausts all the ways out of the bondage of sexual sin but I hope this may spur someone into action to seek deliverance from the Lord and regain freedom. Criticisms, comments and additions to this article is also very much welcome.
