Encouragement

Having been a Christian for many many years, I am familiar with miraculous stories in the bible of how God heard people’s prayers. Stories of conflicts interestingly turn into victorious stories because of the power of God. Well recently, I came to understand the words of the hymns ‘faith of our fathers living still’. I witnessed God’s provision in the life of a close friend. An ordinary sister like me. We both lived busy lives and hardly had the time to visit each other. However whenever we do catch up on social media or in person, we start off from where we left encouraging each other.
There was never a dull moment with my friend as she seemed loaded with testimonies of how God met her needs. She had told me about how God even provided a car free of charge just at the time she needed it. this time, my friend shared another testimony. she had gone to church that Sabbath with a somewhat heavy heart. She had been looking for work and it was getting critical to get one so she could care for her family. The job had not manifested and she totally depended on God for every meal and her family’s upkeep. God always provided.
As she drove to church that morning, she realised her petrol tank was almost empty. The dash board glowed with a red dot of warning. She needed some fund to sort that out. Then she needed money for the week’s maintenance. Particularly to buy her baby’s nappy and wipes. She was a little discouraged and coupled with the dripping nose, she really wanted to stay home and just rest, but she remembered the pastor’s message from last week, bring your children to church he had said, teach them the customs of the bible. So she went.
As she got to church, she was surprised when various blessings came her way from clothes to money to delicious home-made meals. She was overwhelmed as each person gave gifts without any prompt from her. she thanked God silently in her heart. As if that was not enough, another sister whispered that she had something in her car boot for her. It was a big box of wipes! Tears welled up her eyes as she realised how God met each need one by one. Yesterday, she had prayed about the big and the small issues and today, God met them one by one. The amazing thing was she did not mention her needs to anyone in the church but she left with more than enough to get her through the week and still has that box of wipes for her little baby.
Those tears were tears of joy knowing that God truly cared for her. My friend encouraged me to give all my worries to the Lord and depend on God fully after all, the bible says in Psalms 46:1, He is our very present help in times of trouble. Some needs stare us in the face and spell trouble rather than needs. We worry naturally thinking our worry can bring solutions, but our only solution lies in the Lord God Almighty, the one who created all and owns all. No request is too small or big before God Almighty. Believe in him today through Jesus our Lord, Pray today and watch your quietest prayers come to manifestation in the physical.
