Broken pieces of my heart

afloat on the drifting waters of life

Oh Lord, why did you break me so?

at least You allowed

and now I am all over

stricken, broken and surely hurting

I was speechless and still, have nothing more to say

I am quiet outwardly but screaming within

my eyes are closed but I am awake and burning

Then,  I am jolted

there goes the preacher again

so hopeful,so certain that You care

so assured You will mend

saying You are my friend

and You will take me safely ashore

This is tough however

I now wonder, how did Job survive?

I am not me anymore

the smiles, laughter and shine are dulled

I am stretched and torn apart

Lord, how can I ever be the same again?

I lay quiet in your presence, I hear the preacher again

This time, he plucks the discordant questions in my heart to harmony

I feel and savor God's tough love

In His presence, I slowly realise a higher calling...

You are the potter and I am the clay

You are able to take me and mold me again

You can rebuild me and set me up for a unique purpose

Yes, You can make a masterpiece of me again

You are able to use the tears and hurt to bless a generation

Somebody, somewhere, somehow will be snatched from the fire

Somewhere, somebody somehow will feel your love

So I am not fooled, I am not foolish when I submit myself to You

I will let You do your work on me

then will the counsel of the evil one turn to nought

then will all glory be given unto You.

The Lord God, He is my father and yes, He truly cares

He will not let me waste

He will lift me up again

He will bless many because of me

He will be lifted high in my life

I therefore declare by faith that I am what He says I am

Restored, renewed, revitalised
