Abide in my Love

John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

Jesus gave us an instruction in righteousness and a condition to receive the privilleges of the kingdom of God.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. Jn 14:15

The condition is to keep...tereo..gk meaning ...to guard, ...hold fast, ...keep, ...preserve, ...reserve, ...watch., His commandments. That is, Jesus is saying holdfast and watch to be a doer of the Word of God.

By doing so we shall Abide ...meno ..gk, meaning ... to stay ...continue ...dwell ...endure ...be present ...remain ...stand ...tarry, in His love.

Because Love who is Jesus is both a person and a place, the very reason He made the statement for us to abide.

He is saying stay with him or dwell with him and continue in the command or instruction he has given us. We can only live by the Word ...rhema..gk, which proceed from the mouth of Jesus and not bread alone.

Jesus kept the father's commandments and so He instucts us to do same and we are guaranteed of abiding in His love where you will receive supply.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 1 Jn 2:5

Abiding in Jesus' love is the strong tower where you will be kept safe from the onslaught of Satan and his cohorts of hell against you.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Jn 14:21

The more we preserve and reserve the Word of God, His commandments, in our heart the more we enlarge and drive deep our teritory in Jesus' love.

His Love ...agape..gk, means ... affection, ...benevolence, ...dear, ...love., flows from the heart with good judgment and a deliberate choice. This is distinguished from, phileo..gk, meaning love flowing from the mind, that is, to be fond of or have affection for or attachment to or a feeling.

Thus Jesus' Love ...agape..gk, for God which is supreme, we receive by abiding in it and that (Love) charity edifieth us, 1 Cor 8:1, to flow to people with love ...phileo..gk. The bible says

If any man love God, the same is known of him. 1 Cor 8:3

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. Jn 15:9-10

Our Christian life is all about our love relationship and its works. We can only receive supply and assignments from Jesus only because of our love for Him. To feed the lambs and sheep well will only flow from the love for Jesus by keeping his commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 Jn 5:3
