The Fruit of Love

Gal 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Fruits are desired in every area of life to bring in fulfillment, satisfaction and succession. A fruit is ...
- The seed-bearing part of a plant, edible, colourful and fragrant
- An end result, effect, or consequence; advantageous or advantageous result.
- To produce fruit.

Jesus says I have chosen you to bear good fruit ...karpos..gk, and let the fruit remain when the bear.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. Jn 15:16

Fruit bearing beloved depends on its source and the source of our fruit is from the Spirit of Christ.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Ps 1:3

Apostle Paul says the fruit of the Spirit is love. Because he that is joined to the Lord is one, our spirit has become one with God's Spirit who will help us to bear the fruit of love after receiving the best seed of love.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jn 3:16

Do you love me? Jesus asked Apostle Peter and He is asking you today the same question.

He asked him 3 times to make the concept of Love He is asking about to be made crystal clear before giving him an assignment. This because ministering and minstry does not begin with a love for people but the love for God and the atmosphere of that relationship with Christ Jesus overflows to people.

This Love ...agape..gk, meaning ... affection, ...benevolence, ...dear, ...love., flows from the heart with good judgment and deliberate choice. This is distinguished from,

...phileo..gk, meaning love flowing from the mind, that is, to be fond of or have affection for or attachment to or a feeling.

Thus there is the fruit of Love ...agape..gk, for God which is supreme and that (Love) charity edifieth. 1 Cor 8:1, to flow to people with love ...phileo..gk. The bible says

If any man love God, the same is known of him. 1 Cor 8:3

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. Jn 15:9-10

Why the fruit of love?

Because love is the greatest of all vitue. Faith is for now, hope is for tomorow and love is for all time. It is Love that set all the virtues working. Faith works by love and it is for our love we hope for tomorow.

Our God is Love and Love is God. God is greater than all therefore Love is the greatest. We are born of love and true love is of God which flows to your neighbor because we possess that seed of love.

The fruit of love flows freely to others even your enemy and it is necessary for everyone born of God to bear it.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 1 Cor 13:4-7

If you fail to love then you do not have a free spirit for the work of the ministry. Your spirit must be free for Jesus to uphold you with His free Spirit. Brother David prayed...

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Ps 51:10-12

The fruit of love refuses to hate, bear grudge, be bitter or kill even his/her enemy which will defile you and not make your spirit free.

God will not entrust to you with power to heal, deliver or preach without the fruit of love for God and for people.

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Eph 5:2

Agape..gk and Phileo..gk is a necessary condition for a better relationship. Christianity is all about relationship and only the fruit of love will build a lasting relationship with Jesus and with neighbor.

Will Jesus find your fruit of love edible, colourful and fragrant?
