Live Not by Bread Alone

Mt 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The survival of the physiology of man is dependent on the food we eat without which we will starve to death. For our body organs and tissues to function well and be nourished requires that we feed them well to live.

To live is described as;
- To be alive; to have life.
- To survive; to persevere; to continue.
- To spend, as one's life; to pass; to maintain; to continue in,

It is also to be;
- Being in existence; actual living
- Full of earnestness; active; wide awake; glowing.

Furthermore to live is as it happens; in real time; direct now.

In otherwords Jesus is saying as you live now and being in existence, do not live by bread alone but by the Word from God's mouth who is Spirit and whose Word creates material things ...bread.

Man is a spirit being who lives in his body as his house should not live ...zao..gk, meaning ...to live, ...life, ...alive ...quick, by the bread ...food only, feeding the body and leave the spirit.

The attention of man is on the bread that he will eat to satisfy his lust. The more we focus on the cravings of the things of this world the more we are trapped by Satan and his agents of darkness.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 Jn 2:1-16

The bread of this world does not satisfy our hunger. After getting the money, we still want more and many other things no matter how we get it is not the issue for us.
This is the cause of killing, stealing and destruction and corruption in high and low places, living for the bread alone and never have the time for our spirit which is the real issue to deal with.

We always want the things only instead of the Source of it who gives to us freely. After we have received from God, we are then controlled by the things and then living by the dictates of the things.

... if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. Ps 62:10

Jesus says we are to live by the Word ...rhema..gk, that proceed from the mouth of God. That is, living by the standard of the Word of God in your heart. Rhema..gk, is the creative Word of God to live by. It is that which creates, delivers and build us up after the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Feed the inward man constantly by meditating on the Word.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Eph 6:17

When we become desperate for the bread alone, that is our wants and needs, we will not be able to distinguish between God's provision and Satan's bait. We fall prey to the antics of Satan to be ensnared and defiled.
In our desperation, we will lack the power to exercise faith in the present and therefore cut out the power of God.

It was true that Jesus was hungry after the fasting but Jesus was not desperate for food...bread and therefore was able see the bait of Satan to overcome and escape it.

In our hunger for bread, Jesus is saying live on the Rhema..gk, of God which is the creative Word which will produce what you desire.
Feed your spirit with the logos..gk, God's Word by meditating in it and acting on it until it dominates your heart and all your things to produce the rhema..gk, from your mouth. With the mouth confession is made unto salvation which includes all the bread we desire in this world.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:10

When we are hungry, Do not run to seek our own solution outside God, by it many a Christian today have been trapped because they want to live by bread alone and this is the line of attack from Satan.

It is true we need money or that job or that child or that healing etc, Let God's Word direct you to the desired food not Satan's bait.

Live not by bread alone.
