Earlier this year I had some correspondence with an acquaintance of mine who I use to see a few times a year because we both enjoyed investment conferences. We met way back in 2006 in Vancouver B. C. while attending an investment conference. This man is a smart guy who has a home based business and sells real estate and while we agree on many things the one thing we disagreed on during one of our conversations at his home was the existence of God and religion.

After the recent same sex marriage ruling earlier this summer by the U. S. Supreme court I asked my acquaintance the following question and he engaged me with several responses which you might find very edifying and informative. I've kept his identity a secret for his personal protection.

Me- What do you think of the recent Supreme Court decision?

Atheist- I think the country is moving in the right direction with those decision.

Me- Are you serious? If anything this matter should be left up to the states don't you think? God defined marriage as between a man and a woman. Who is the Supreme Court to re-define it? They didn't create marriage.

Atheist-God does not exist.

Me- If God doesn't exist then everything is permissible including murder, rape and incest, lying, theft and every other form of lawlessness. Do you believe this?

Atheist-I do not believe in god and I am a good person. 80% of this country believes in god and look what a mess it is. This country needs to wake up and stop drinking the Koolaid called religion.

Religion is a disease of the mind.

Me- They might believe intellectually in a Supreme Being but less and less in Biblical theism. Incidentally it only takes a dedicated minority of evil men and women to destroy a country.

Do you believe its wrong for a man to put his penis in another man's arse?

Atheist- I do not know why they like that. I cringe at the thought but I am not the one doing it.

Really Carlton, have you ever thought about why it is that this planet is so messed up? Most of this planet believe in a god. They are all drinking the same Koolaid.

Religion in all forms is a virus of the mind.

You catch it from your friends and where you are born.

Only the strong can resist the virus.

Carlton if you were born in Iraq, you would be a Muslim and I would still be an atheist.

Me- You cringe at the thought of a penis penetrating your arse because you know God designed sex to be between a man and a woman. Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled but whoremongers, adulterers and homosexuals God will judge.

Remember when we were in Palm Springs you got very angry at some guys calling us queers or fagots. You were ashamed to be identified as such a person because you know it's disgusting but why is it disgusting if there is no God?

Atheist- There is no God Carlton. It is a fabrication by man placed upon man.

If you were born in South America you would have caught the virus called Catholic. I would still be an atheist if I were born there.

There are many of these mind viruses out there.

Guard you mind!!!

It is easily influenced.

Me- If there is no God then the most powerful and rich can get away with murder and they are but only in this temporal sphere. Should a man like Hitler or Stalin escape God's punishment? Or suppose somebody raped your beautiful wife or daughter and escaped punishment wouldn't you want there to be a just God in heaven to execute his wrath upon those evil doers? But if there is no God then there is no evil.

You're in a moral dilemna my friend. You assume there is good and evil but such terms are meaningless in an atheistic would without God.

Atheist- I wish you were right. It would be nice to believe that people like Hitler got his punishment. But that is not the case.

You have been fed these lies to control you. To make you conform.

Me- Furthermore your life has no purpose or meaning without God. God has given you life and wants you to serve Him and love Him and honor Him and His word. Just stop for a moment and think about all God's goodness to you. Your children...children are a heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. You wealth...it is God that gives you the power to get wealth. Your health, your ability to reason, that is intelligence. Praise the Lord for His goodness to the children of men.

Atheist- Many of the past religions have died and gone.

Eventually all religion and the wars and hate caused by them will go away and the world will be beautiful.

Like John Lennon said. Imagine no religion...

The planet sucks pretty hard right now with all the religious Koolaid that is being consumed.

Me- Jesus Christ is coming again in judgment upon this wicked evil world. Mark, I want you to escape His wrath and flee to Christ for mercy.

You said your a good person but there's only one good and that is God. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. That is we've missed the bulls eye...and the wages of sin is DEATH. Rom. 3:23; 6:23

Atheist- Carlton I made my children, not god. you are drinking too much Koolaid my friend.

Stop drinking the Koolaid Carlton!!!

Me- M how did you make your children? God designed sex. As King David said I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Atheist- The Bible is a fiction. The virus is strong with you.

Me- M I love you...I care for you...I pray for you. I desire you to start reading the Bible with an open mind ok? God will not reject you UNLESS you first reject Him. Sadly you have rejected Him and denied the only true God and Jesus Christ His only begotten son. If you were going to be controlled wouldn't it be better to be controlled by the master planner who can make no mistakes...your Creator who knows you inside and out from your mother's womb. He knows you're beginning and your end. He knows what's gonna happen to you tomorrow. Repent and believe the gospel before its too late. I give you fair warning. There is no hope for life outside Jesus Christ. This is life eternal that they might know thee, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. John 17:1-2

Atheist- I wish that were true because it is the easy road to believe in god.

You believe God will punish you if you are bad.

I believe you should be good because it is the right thing to do.

Carlton you are a good friend.

I wish you too had an open mind to what I am saying.

These viruses are strong. The middle east is being destroyed by them. There are a lot of crazy sick people there.

But there are too many in this country too.

Me- M because there are crazy religious people like radical Muslims who go around killing people who disagree with them and cutting off their heads is no good reason to be an atheist and trun away from the true religion found in Jesus Christ.

Perhaps a lot of the hypocrisy in the churches has made you turn away from pure relgion.

James defined pure religion this way: Pure religion and undefiled before God the Father is to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself UN spotted from the world. Our hearts must be made better Mark. Our hearts must be purified by faith so that we can stand perfect before God. Jesus Christ said be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.

We are not born perfect only Jesus Christ was and we cannot become perfect on our own we need help. We need God.

Jesus Christ came into the world that we might have eternal life. He died the just for the unjust to reconcile us to God. There is no life worth living but the Christian life. We suffer persecution at the hands of our enemies but we have our reward in heaven. We are afflicted but not forsaken...we suffer poverty yet we are rich in God's grace and mercy.

What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36

Anyway wish you could see our new backyard. It's beautifully landscaped. Drop by when you're in the ara for a visit.

Atheist-

Yes the Muslims are crazy now but Christian were crazy 1000 years ago during the crusdades.

Me- Well people who called themselves Christians but Christ never taught us to go kill our enemies did He?

Atheist- I wish Christian were more like Christ. It would be a much better planet to live on.

Me- Unfortunately God's judgment is on the local churches today. They are impotent for the most part. Jesus told his disciples they were the salt of the earth but if the salt has lost its savor wherewith shall it be salted. It is good for nothing but to be cast out and trampled upon by men.

The churches have become social clubs and places for business. They no longer represent Jesus Christ and His interest. 501c3 churches are incorporated and in reality State churches. I have no respect for them. They deny the lordship of Christ.

This is why the Lord lead me to preach the gospel on the streets. The churches would not have me.

I never went to their Bible colleges or studied at their cemetaries. I mean seminaries but neither did Jesus or His disciples. They were common laboring men sent forth to preach the good news and turn the world upside down. Now as we approach the end of time we can see several prophecies coming true.

As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the coming of the son of man. Matthew 24 Genesis 6 Pestilences...famines, earthquakes in divers places. Violence filling the earth. Wicked imaginations everythere via Hollywood films and music. This is why John the Apostle said in 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world the lust of the eyes...the lust of the flesh and the pride of life is not of the father but is of the world; and the world passes away and the lust thereof but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Atheist- Since you are different from the Christian that went to the seminary route, how do those Christians treat you?

I meed all kinds of Christians...some better than others.

Some way worse.

Me- My experience has been that most seminary students are afraid to preach the gospel in the streets. Why? They want a local church of their own. They want to make money using Christianity. Look at all the mega-churches where the pastors make themselves rich tickling peoplels ears telling them thigns they want to hear. But Jesus said the disciple is not above his master. if they hated Jesus they will hate his disciples too. The apostle Peter said all that will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. I don't see too many chruch pastors suffering persecution. That might change soon enough as the homosexual community begins to sue churches for not marrying them or baking wedding cake for their weddings.

Atheist- Speaking of mega churches...Do you like Joel Osteen?

Me- Seems like a nice guy but he is part of a 501 c3 incorporated state church I believe. he seems to preach pretty safe message that don't et him in trouble with the powers that be. When I saw him on Larry King show he seemed disingenuouis in his answere about salvation opting for political correctness instead of the orthodox response.

Where are the John the Baptists and the apostle Paul's? These men died for what they believe in . I can respect that.
